I’ll be honest, I was a little hesitant to order a reformer from a brand I hadn’t heard much about. I run a small private studio, and when you’re spending this much on equipment, it’s hard not to wonder whether you should just stick with one of the better-known brands.

I ended up going with the Pilaray Signature Maple Reformer, and I’ve had it for about a week now. So far, I’m pleasantly surprised.

The biggest thing for me has been the noise. I was expecting at least a little creaking or movement from a wooden frame, but it’s been really quiet so far, including when I use the jumpboard. The frame also feels very solid and stays in place during workouts.

I like the finish and upholstery as well. It feels like a well-made piece of equipment rather than something that was made to look good in photos. The carriage has a smooth feel to it, which my clients seem to like.

Obviously, one week isn’t enough for me to say how it will hold up over several years, so I’m not going to pretend I can answer that yet. But honestly, that was the risk I was most worried about when I ordered from a smaller brand, and so far I haven’t had any regrets.

If you’re considering a lesser-known brand like I was, I’d say the main thing is to look closely at the construction, warranty, and support rather than just the name on the frame. Based on my first week, I’m happy with the decision.

My wife originally wanted a reformer for the house, and I honestly didn’t think I would use it much. That changed pretty quickly. I lift weights regularly, but this gives me a completely different type of challenge—especially for core control, mobility, and those smaller muscles I usually overlook. The movement feels smooth, the frame is solid under my weight, and adjusting the ropes between exercises is straightforward. It has officially become equipment we both use, which makes the purchase feel even more worthwhile.

We added this reformer to our employee gym and it’s been getting a lot of use. Several people in the office have tried it now, from beginners to more experienced Pilates users, and the feedback has been really good.

It feels very stable, the carriage runs smoothly, and it’s much quieter than we expected. We also like that the spring resistance can be adjusted easily depending on who is using it.

It’s been a great addition to the gym and people are actually using it regularly, which is probably the best compliment we can give it.

I’m very happy with the Pilaray Reformer. The machine feels sturdy and well made, and the carriage moves smoothly and quietly during workouts. One feature I especially appreciate is the rope system—it is very easy and convenient to set up and adjust, so I can switch between exercises without wasting time. Overall, it looks great, feels professional, and works perfectly for home Pilates sessions. I will come back in the future.

I had the concern of space before buying. Mine is in my basement, and it fits great. You don't need a huge room—just enough clearance at the front and back for exercises. It's been very convenient for home workouts.
